HP is 1-and-a-half!

My oldest son Hunter celebrated his 18-month birthday yesterday.  And when I say celebrated, I mean my wife and I did. :)

Yesterday after getting off work and a delicious dinner of chicken BBQ sandwiches, we sat in the front hall and played ball.  This consists of getting all the balls he currently has in the living room and rolling them around in the hall.  He got a real kick out me pretending to be a quarterback with the Spider-Man football Grandma gave him, and laughed so hard when I yelled ‘hut, hut, hike!’ and threw the football to mommy.

It’s so amazing to me how this little creation of ours has grown into such a little man.  Right now he’s not feeling so good, because he’s been bothered with recurring ear infections, but he tries not to let that get him down.

While it has definitely been a challenge, especially given the little guy’s love of screaming at the top of his lungs in what we call his “Dolphin Boy” cry, and his relentless curiosity, I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.  Just watching little HP develop and learn and every day become more and more of that person he’s destined to be, I just can’t help but to watch and marvel.
